The historic renovation of the Booking.com office was completed on an aggressive 13-week schedule, with a conservative budget and took into account several unique design and preservation details. Venn Construction and Gensler worked with the client to determine numerous VE options from the original design to reduce the spend and maintain the building’s spirit. Working in a historical building provided challenges in both design and cost. A few solutions that Venn offered to accommodate both challenges were utilizing original mosaic floor tiles that were uncovered during demo, sourcing local vendors for the wood barn door and saloon doors and self-performing the installation of the steel trip details. The collaboration between field and design teams provided the resulting project to meet both timelines and budget while never sacrificing quality and desired outcomes.
